Canjica is a typical Brazilian dessert made with white corn, slow-cooked until soft and creamy, combined with milk, condensed milk, and spices like cinnamon and coconut.

For a creamy and traditional canjica, you will need:

  1. Soak the canjica in water for 8 to 12 hours.
  2. Cook in a pressure cooker with water until the grains are very soft.
  3. Drain some of the water and add the milk, cinnamon, and cloves.
  4. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
  5. Add the condensed milk, coconut milk, and shredded coconut.
  6. Cook until it reaches a creamy consistency.

Serve hot or warm, finishing with ground cinnamon 🌟

  • For extra creaminess, mash some grains during cooking
  • You can add crushed peanuts or paçoca
  • If you prefer it less sweet, adjust the amount of condensed milk
